Rules

  • Refer to Coordinator Contact Info under your EMDC for contact details of contact person where the results forms must be submitted.

    Results forms must be printed from download link. Results must be submitted on the latest on the Wednesday after the match by the Home school.

  • PLEASE NOTE: THAT SCHOOLS MUST GET FIXTURES ON THE WEBSITE, FIXTURES WILL NOT BE FAXED OR EMAILED TO SCHOOLS
  • Schools will be divided into Primary and Secondary/High School groups. Each group will have its own coordinator.
  • Each group will then be divided into groups of 6 (six) schools each. This will be based on the circuit that the school is in.
  • These schools will play a round-robin to determine the top schools for the Circuit that will be invited to the Distrct Play Off's.
  • The winner(s) of the District Play Off's will represent the relevant EMDC at the WP Tournament.
  • The winners of the WP Top Schools will respresent WP at Western Cape Top Schools
  • Match duration is 1 hour (60 minutes).
  • Refreshments are optional.
  • A team consists of 6 ranked players. At least 4 players must be present at each match. Absent players wil forfeit their points to the opponent school. If both players are absent, award 0.5 points to each team.
  • All matches must be played to qualify for the District Ply Off's.
  • Confirmations (or alternative arrangements) regarding the match must be made by the away team on or before the Wednesday before the match.
  • The home team must fax or email the results to the relevant coordinator by the Wednesday after the match.
  • Both team managers must sign the results form.
  • Use the Results Form available at the Downloads link.
  • Postponed matches:The School that wants to postpone a match must consult with opponent school and agree on a suitable date. Use the Postphoned Match Form available at the Downloads link. Both teams must sign and stamp this form with the official school stamp and email or fax to your schools coordinator.
  • Please note age restrictions to qualify for an A-team and to take part in provincial or national tournament: High School Teams: all players must be 19 years or younger, may not turn 20 during the year. Primary School Teams: all players must be 13 years or younger, may not turn 14 during the year. Older players are allowed to play in B-teams and older Primary School players may play at a High School with permission of the principal of that High School.
